Active substance is Benzalkonium Chloride, it is responsible for changing the surface tension of the cellular membrane. The molecules of Benzalkonium Chloride have hydrophile and hydrophobe parts which are actively absorbed between the surfaces of liquid-gas, liquid-liquid, and liquid-solid. This provides moisturizing, foaming, dissolving, bacteriastatic and bactericidal reactions (Levrie M.1980). Benzalkonium Chloride has a high diffusion rate which helps to coat the lining of the vagina with a protective film, slows down the impellent ability of the spermatozoid and subsequently destroys its membrane.
